BIO

Maria's Prado 250 runs a low-profile Reconn platform, packed with the precision you'd expect from an accountant — recovery boards and shovel where he can reach them, awning and water sorted, nothing rattling loose. It's a setup built to disappear into the background so the weekend can take over. Point it at the red dirt and the working week goes quiet.

Fav Product Note

Ford Ranger PX3
  • I deal in certainty all week. Overlanding is the one place I'm happy not knowing exactly what's around the next bend.
  • Everything on the roof has a place — same as the books. When your gear's in order, you stop thinking about it and start enjoying where you are.
  • The Prado gets me out past the last bar of signal, and the platform carries everything I need to stay out there.

Modular channels

Four sides to build on.

Most crossbars give you one channel — a single line to mount everything along, whether it suits your gear or not. Every change means shuffling what's already there to make room.

The Reconn-Deck Bar gives you four. Integrated channels run along all four sides of every bar, so lights, holders, mounts and recovery gear drop in exactly where you need them — top, sides and all.

It turns a plain bar into a low-profile deck you can build on from every angle. Your layout stops being a compromise and starts being a plan.

Channels on every side

Four integrated channels per bar — mount top, front and back, not just along one line.

Drop-in, anywhere

Accessories locate exactly where you want them, with nothing to thread from the end.

One system

Zwifloc-compatible and shared with the Pioneer accessory range, so your kit moves with you.

Modular system

Starts small. Grows with you.

Not every trip needs a full rack, and not every roof should carry one all year round. Most setups make you choose your size on day one and live with it.

Reconn scales. Run two bars for a clean, simple crossbar setup — then add more and let the deck grow. The same interlocking system goes from a pair of bars up to a full load-carrying platform.

So you buy for now and build for later. The bars you start with are the bars you keep as your adventures — and your loads — get bigger.

Scales on demand

From two bars to a full platform on the same interlocking system.

Clean either way

A leading-edge wind fairing cuts drag and wind noise before it reaches the cabin.

Profile & aerodynamics

Low and quiet.

A tall, boxy rack changes how your car looks and sounds — extra height, extra drag, and a drone that fills the cabin at highway speed.

Reconn sits low and flows with your roofline, so it reads like it came with the car. A wind fairing built into the leading edge cuts drag and breaks up the airflow that causes the noise.

The result is a deck that carries like a rack but disappears like trim — quieter on the road and cleaner on the driveway.

Low-profile deck

Sits close to the roof for a factory-clean look that flows with the vehicle.

Built-in fairing

A leading-edge wind fairing cuts drag and wind noise before it reaches the cabin.

Quiet at speed

Smoother airflow means less drone on the long haul, loaded or empty.

Strength & build

Built to be loaded.

A deck is only worth building on if you can trust what it holds. Load rating on paper means little without the testing to back it.

Reconn is made from powder-coated aluminium — corrosion-resistant and built for the weather, the salt and the corrugations. It carries up to 150kg on-road and off-road, and 375kg static when you're set up in camp.

Every part is tested to ISO standards for vibration, durability and city-crash — so the confidence isn't a claim, it's been earned before it reaches your roof.

150kg on & off-road

Full rated capacity moving or parked, plus 375kg static in camp.

Corrosion-resistant

Powder-coated aluminium built to shrug off salt, water and dust.

ISO tested

Validated for vibration, durability and city-crash before it ships.

Fitting & versatility

On without drilling.

A rack that means drilling holes or a specialist install is a rack most people put off — and never fully trust afterwards.

Reconn mounts to your vehicle's own points with no drilling, using the included tools. It goes on for the trip and comes off just as easily when you want the roof back.

And because it shares the Rhino-Rack ecosystem — Zwifloc hardware and Pioneer accessories — the gear you already own keeps working as your setup evolves.

No drilling

Mounts to factory points with the included tools — on for the trip, off when you're done.

Ecosystem-ready

Zwifloc-compatible and shared with the Pioneer accessory range.

DIY-friendly

A straightforward fit at home, no specialist install required.

Features

Zwifloc Channels Nuts

The patented Zwifloc™ fastening system lets you mount, move and swap accessories anywhere along your bars, platform or deck, without disturbing anything else already up there. One clever channel nut, endless setups.

Drop in, not thread in

Traditional channel nuts have to be fed in from the end of the bar and slid into place. The patented Zwifloc™ nut drops straight into the channel wherever you need it and sits flush under the lip, no end-loading, no aperture to line up.

Place it anywhere

Add a bike carrier between two roof boxes, or slot a light bracket into the last free gap, without loosening and shuffling everything else along. Every accessory goes exactly where you want it, and the rest of your setup stays put.

Twist in, twist out

A turn of the bolt rotates a high-tensile nut to lock beneath the channel edge; back it off and it lifts straight out. Add, remove or reposition your gear in seconds, and change your layout as the trip demands.

One ecosystem

The same Zwifloc™ hardware works across Pioneer platforms, Reconn-Deck bars and crossbars, so your accessories move with you. Many products now ship with Zwifloc built in, and gear you already own can be retrofitted.
