Roof Racks

How do I know which roof racks fit my vehicle?

Use the Fit My Vehicle tool to view all the racks available for your vehicle.

How do I clean my roof racks?

First, do not take your vehicle through automated car washes with your roof racks installed. Hand wash the racks with soap and water, and never use abrasive materials. If in doubt, check your product instructions.

How do I stop the noise my roof racks make?

Our high-end roof racks are designed with rubber inserts to reduce noise and prevent whistling. Incorrect installation is the most common cause of noisy roof racks. Check your product's instructions to make sure the rubber strips are installed correctly in the channels, both topside and underside of your bars. The inserts should be cut to the correct length and fitted inside the channel so there are no gaps. Finally, make sure your end caps are installed and locked before driving.

To further reduce wind noise, add a Rhino-Rack wind fairing. If noise persists, check with your nearest dealer for further options. Some vehicles are also noisy by nature; an aftermarket headliner can significantly cut the noise made by the vehicle and the rack.

What is the roof rack load rating?

Load ratings vary between vehicles, roof types and fixture styles. Use our Load Rating Calculator to work out the load rating for your vehicle and roof rack system.

Will the roof racks work with my sunroof?

In many cases the roof racks are compatible with the sunroof version of a vehicle. Check whether there is an 'important note' on the roof rack system, as this details any considerations such as sunroof compatibility. We recommend taking care when operating a sunroof with roof racks installed for the first time, and being aware of how your cargo may affect sunroof operation.

Will my old roof racks fit my new car?

Most likely not. To ensure a safe and effective fit, roof racks can vary greatly between vehicles depending on the roof design. To check cross-compatibility, note the product codes for your current system and cross-reference them against the systems available for the new vehicle. Some racks fit multiple vehicles, but if you are unsure, visit your nearest dealer for further details.

Can I install the roof racks myself?

Many of our roof racks can be installed at home. However, we recommend some systems, such as trackmounts and backbones, are installed by an authorised Rhino-Rack dealer. Always follow the instructions, and be aware that some systems do not come with all the tools needed to install. Check our fitting times guide for which systems we recommend are installed professionally. If you have any issues installing a product, contact your nearest dealer for help and refer to the instructions.

Can I get a copy of my roof rack instructions and fitting supplements?

Yes. Find your roof rack instructions by selecting your vehicle in Fit My Vehicle and locating your racks. All the necessary documents are under the documents tab on the rack page.

The system I want isn't available, can I get a custom rack?

Our products are versatile and allow for a variety of custom solutions. Bear in mind that altering the racks in any way may void the warranty, and consider how the weight and fitment style may affect your vehicle's load-carrying capacity.

We choose roof rack systems for each vehicle based on the optimal fitment. Some fitments are not recommended for vehicles with low load ratings or particular roof types, and will not be developed for those vehicles. For custom fitments, visit your nearest dealer who offers specialist fitting; you can find specialist dealers through the dealer locator.

Accessories

How can I tell if an accessory will fit my roof racks?

Rhino-Rack accessories are compatible with most roof racks fitted with a channel. Check the roof rack compatibility on the product page to find out whether a fitting kit is required.

Will Vortex Bar accessories fit my Pioneer System?

Check the product's roof rack compatibility, as some accessories will fit directly. Otherwise, you can use a VA bar adaptor to mount Vortex accessories to your Pioneer System.

Will Thule accessories fit my Rhino-Rack roof racks?

Most Thule and Rhino-Rack accessories are cross-compatible, though there may be exceptions. We recommend using Rhino-Rack accessories on our bars, as they are designed specifically for this purpose. If you already have an accessory you want to fit, visit a Rhino-Rack dealer, who can help with a fitting kit to mount it to our roof racks.

Can I get a copy of my accessory or product instructions?

Yes. You can find all relevant documents on the product page under the documents tab.

General

My question isn't answered here. What should I do?

Please contact your local dealer for questions about specific vehicle fitments, returns, or product faults.

Is it possible to get spare parts?

Yes. You can order spare parts from your local dealer, who can identify the part number required and order it for you. You can also find part numbers in the fitting instructions provided with your product.

Can I get all my locks to use the same key?

Yes. With our MasterKey range you can easily replace the locks on your racks and accessories so they all use one key.

I lost my Rhino-Rack keys, can I get replacements?

Yes. You can order replacement keys through your nearest dealer, or replace the locks.
