Rhino-Rack Legs and Mounting options
LEGS & MOUNTING
How your rack holds on.
Every Rhino-Rack system connects to your car through a mounting method matched to your roof. There are a few types, because there are a lot of roofs, but you don't need to know which is which. Tell us your vehicle and we'll show you exactly what fits.

Mounting types.
Not every type fits every car — that's exactly what Fit My Vehicle is for.

Raised Rail
Rails that run along the roof with a gap underneath; the legs wrap around them.
Suits many SUVs and wagons.
REMOVABLE FIT
RX100

Flush Rail
Rails that sit tight to the roof with no gap; the legs bolt to the rail.
Suits many newer SUVs.
REMOVABLE FIT
RX200

Fixed Point
Hidden factory mounting points, often under small covers; the legs bolt straight in.
Suits many 4WDs and Euro models.
REMOVABLE FIT
RX300

Bare Roof
No rails or points, just a smooth roof; the legs clamp inside the door opening.
Suits many hatches and sedans.
REMOVABLE FIT

Gutter Mount
Classic rain gutters down the sides; the legs clamp onto the gutter.
Suits older 4WDs, vans and utes.

HOW A SYSTEM FITS TOGETHER
Three parts, one system.
Every setup is the same three pieces working together: Get the first two right and everything above them just works. That's what Fit My Vehicle sorts for you.

Legs (or towers)
the feet that grip your roof.

Bars or a platform
what sits on top and carries your gear.
WHAT'S A FIT KIT?
The part that makes it yours.
A leg is designed to suit many cars; a fit kit tailors it to one. It's the set of brackets, pads or clamps shaped for your exact make and model, so the rack sits secure, level and flush. It's why the same leg can fit hundreds of vehicles, and why choosing your car matters more than choosing a part.

Non-invasive
Uses what your car already has: factory points, rails, clamps or gutters. Nothing drilled, comes off cleanly. Covers most fits.
Invasive
A fitted track or Backbone frame, installed once for a permanent, maximum-strength base. For heavy or off-road loads. Requires drilling and dropping the headliner.

For heavy platform loads, Backbone runs an internal frame through the vehicle and ties the rack to its strongest points, so weight transfers into the body of the car, not just the roof skin. It's how a platform carries more, especially off-road. Fitted once, hidden for good.
