NT Trip Reaching Base Camp
Team Rhino-Rack has passed through Cunnamulla, Mt Isa and Doomadgee on their way to base camp in Borroloola, Northern Territory. Tangles, Ern, Snapper and Johno have put Hema Maps GPS system and our vehicles to the test and passed with Australian standard flying colours; red earth, cloudless blue skies and the gold of stars spread across clear velvet nights. Ahhhh there’s not much like adventuring in Australia to satisfy your appetite for rugged beauty.
The team has camped out for over a week now and will continue to do so utilising Rhino-Rack products. The items that make camping an easy and enjoyable even in the harsh Australian Outback are a must have. There’s been some issue with local wildlife.
“Mosquitoes the size of cricket balls,” Ern reported. “With blood suckers like straws. We’ve been taking them down with bats but want to save our arm strength for casting.”
A shipment of Heavy-Duty Tropical-Strength Mosquito repellent is being flown in to alleviate the mozzie storm. Today they will be outrunning the mosquitoes on the water as they launch the boat. The hunted become the hunters’ now so watch out Barramundi, they’re coming for you.
